Department of anaesthesiology, resuscitation
and intensive care medicine is established in 1965. Department is independent
and provide anaesthesia services for all operative departments and for
diagnostic procedures. Every day our anaesthesiologists work in seventeen
operative theatres, ambulances and two Intensive care units, for general
surgery and neurosurgery respectively. Anaesthesiologists are well educated
and can apply all modern techniques in anaesthesia as the routine work.
Intensive care unit, both neurosurgically and for general surgery,
is guided by anaesthesiologists. A long tradition of introducing new therapeutic
procedures and invasive monitoring are reasons that Department is one of
the leaders in anaesthesiology practice in our country. Also, our Department
is an educational base for residents from all of the country and for postgraduated
study of Zagreb University School of Medicine.
